Civil Informationing in Maple Ridge, B.C. We had hoped to go to Langley this past weekend but the weather forecasts were changing constantly and decided to cancel that. At the last moment however, it was decided that we would do some street action in Maple Ridge. It was cloudy and windy but stayed dry for us. ![]() Marina, Marilyn and Wayne attended. Traffic was spotty, but the the response was very good, and a number of locals indicated that they would like to get involved, so we seemed to be at the right place at the right time! Sorry to those who received the info too late to join us. NOTE: this will be the final street action of June. We will have an organizational meeting instead on Saturday, June 28th at 2:00 pm, at Blenz Cafe in Maple Ridge. Details will be in the newsletter. They are also posted here PLEASE GET INVOLVED! Sunday, June 15th, 2008 Civil Informationing in Port Coquitlam, B.C. We finally got some great weather this past weekend and took full advantage of it. Members of Fraser Valley 9/11 Truth travelled to Port Coquitlam on Sunday. We set up on Shaughnessy Street (the main street) near the entrance to Lion's Park, where a large, public Father's Day Picnic was taking place. Directly across the street is a large plaza (which features Canadian Tire, Safeway, McDonald's and other restaurants, several banks and various shops and services), and kitty corner to another smaller shopping plaza, so there was lots of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. ![]() The area in behind us was not very attractive (an abandoned gas station lot) but there was enough room for us there without being in anyone's way, as well as room for cars to park. It kind of looked like a "verboten zone" and perhaps that was fitting, given our particular subject matter. ![]() It is a lovely area of the town except for this particular corner lot, which is up for sale, so the contrast was very sharp. Our members also stood right beside the main road with their signs, so we were highly visible from all directions and stood out like sore thumbs. ![]() There was certainly no lack of interest and support from the locals. It proved to be our most successful day of action to date, as we gave away well over 100 DVDs and about 150 flyers in 4 hours (all to people who came to us,as we do not approach people with our material). We also received our highest dollar total in donations so far - almost enough to cover our material costs. ![]() We were seen by thousands of motorists, many of who honked in approval. smiled and gave us the thumbs up. Many who came over also thanked us profoundly for being out there and for standing up for truth and justice. Quite a number of '9/11 aware' people also joined our contact list and expressed a desire to get involved. We also received dozens of signatures for the petition. A number of those who stopped were from the middle east. They asked for extra DVDs for their relatives here, and to send to their friends and relatives back home. Only 2 or 3 voiced obvious disapproval. Apparently there are a few who still believe in and cling desperately to the official fairy tale. Perhaps they were soldiers or plan to join the army soon. We pity them and encourage them to take a closer look at the evidence and at what the war on terror is really about. ![]() Marina and Gary were both a bit under the weather but came out anyways. Thanks for being such troopers! A special thanks to a newcomer Sherrie who joined us today for the first time and did a great job, and to Marilyn for inviting her. She first watched some our videos last year and has become convinced that we were lied to about what happened that day and now felt compelled to take some action. She says she enjoyed it very much and we were glad to have a new face with us. Thanks especially, however, to all those who were just curious and cared enough to stop, and who were willing to take some new information about 9/11. You make it all worthwhile! By the way, this was our 14th day of 9/11 Truth action so far this year, and folks, we ain't done yet! MORE PICTURES HERE Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 Civil Informationing in Surrey, B.C. Despite inclement weather, Gary, Marina and Wayne were in Surrey, BC on 11th day at the entrance to Holland Park on King George Hwy at 100th Ave (aka Old Yale Road), which is right next to the Sky Train Station and the Central Surrey Mall. We were pleased and pleasantly surprised to be joined by Guy, a member of Victoria 9/11 Truth who is visiting the mainland for a few days. He also brought some of his own DVDs to hand out. Thanks Guy!! click to enlarge The rain stopped just before we arrived at the location at 2:00 pm and remained dry, though it was windy and unseasonably cold. It proved to be a great location that provided high visibility from all directions at this very busy intersection, during rush hour. There was a lot of free space here so we were not in anybody's way. click to enlarge The response from motorists was very good and we had quite a bit of foot traffic, though it was spotty, and corresponded greatly to Sky Trains arriving and passengers disembarking. We gave away many DVDs and flyers and received many thanks (as usual) for being out there. click to enlarge Many police cars passed us during the 4 hours we were there, as well as a number cars belonging to the City of Surrey, but we received no hassles, but we also gave them no excuse to do so. We stayed until 6 pm. Despite the weather, it was a fun and worthwhile day for all. (Gary took the pictures so he is not in them).
